PLEASE NOTE: To drive on SA roads, a foreign licence is only valid for one year (after resuming permanent residence in the RSA), provided also that such a licence is in any one of the official SA languages (or that a authenticated translation is attached). Validity will be subject to the conditions of issue, as well to the foreign driving licence's own validity.  HOWEVER you must apply for an SA card licence within twelve (12) months of permanent residence.
