Entrepreneurship – The way forward in South Africa

The Homecoming Revolution and The Gordon Institute of Business Science recently held a one-day workshop in London around entrepreneurship in South Africa. The room in Westminster, with views stretching across the entire City of London, provided an impressive backdrop to what was a highly motivating and inspiring day of talks.

The speakers all shared very personal accounts of their business growth, success and achievements as well as outlining where they believed the opportunities to success were still open. The line-up of speakers included Paul Harris, CEO of FirstRand and one of the founders of Rand Merchant Bank, Nick Binedell, a true entrepreneur in the business education field and the founder of GIBS, and Kevin Vermaak who in the Cape Epic has founded what is now recognized as the greatest mountain bike race in the world. Each of Harris, Binedell and Vermaak has a unique entrepreneurial story which touched and inspired the gathered crowd.
